Claudio was born in Oaxaca, Mexico on July 7th, 1959. He has been creating ceramic pieces for more than 45 years. At the age of 14, he learned the local techniques of his town San Jerónimo Siacayoapilla, a well-known town in the area for manufacturing various utensils for daily use such as: molcajetes, jugs, pots, comales, etc. Much of his applied knowledge in his pottery is empirical. In 1975 he began an artistic transition with the arrival of a Japanese potter named Fumio Takahara in Oaxaca which began an apprenticeship over several years which cultivated a practice of High Temperature Ceramics.
