In 1990, Angelica Moreno founded Talavera de la Reyna, in Puebla, Mexico, with the aim of preserving one of the most important artisan processes in Mexico and bringing the tradition of the 16th century to the present day. The origin of Talavera comes from Baghdad during the 9th century, when the Arabs was looking to imitate the Chinese pottery that arrived to that area, they discovered this ingenious technique. Which was transported to Spain during the invasion of the Moors and then in Mexico with the Spanish conquest in the 16th century.
