Victor Orozco was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1948. His mother said: "a cha'ca was born (a woodpecker)" when she saw that it was a male. That story was relayed to the artist, who decided to take up the anecdote for his name. Víctor Cha'ca forms his work of experiences, of fantastic stories, of themes that he is passionate about, for example the theme of nahuales. Cha'ca mentioned: "They go out at night, in pair to transform into animals and play among them, erotic games, that is said in Juchitán, before dawn they return to their normal state as if they were witches." All these legends are what Victor Cha'ca brings to his work.
