Ana Tanner and Argenis Nunez, the co-founders of Morralito, get inspiration from the exotic and great beauty of this land, the smiles of its people and the extraordinary colorfulness of its essence. Guatemala is their muse. Each piece tells a story from the loving hands that crafted it, Guatemalan artisans involving all of their creativity, experience and spirit through every small detail included. They  believe that each one of them has life and soul of its own, but also a quality beyond comparison, able to touch, seduce and please our clients. Because of its richness and complexity of design - it takes nearly a month to finish each piece. Morralito uses Guatemalan mayan textiles to craft every product. Artisans weave and loom textiles in a back strap traditional loom, tied around their waist, with the highest quality materials. The back strap loom technique is one of the most important cultural treasures of the country: it has been inherited from mother to daughter through countless generations. Young women take a lot of time and effort to develop the needed skills to perform this task with expertise, but thanks to organized weavers communities and fair trade, every day more women are interested in learning it, preserve and protect this cultural legacy.
